About Aman New Delhi
Aman New Delhi captures the ultimate in elegance just a stone’s throw from some of India’s most iconic sites. With luxurious rooms and suites framing an exquisite courtyard, dark timber panels, locally-quarried stone and jaaliscreens create an inviting aura of mystery in this charming resort.
Located in the heart of New Delhi, just south of the Delhi Golf Course and adjacent to the medieval Nizamuddin complex lies this beautiful city-based resort. From its prime location where the modern and historic are juxtaposed in perfect harmony, it is possible to enjoy many of the cultural wonders that New Delhi has to offer from the spectacular architecture of the Mughal Era to the grand monuments of the British Raj.
The design of the resort is contemporary, complemented with Indian touches such as hand-made rugs and jaaliscreens. Spacious suites afford guests the opportunity to relax in enveloping comfort, while the heady aroma of fresh flowers throughout the resort brings nature home to this metropolitan haven.
The Aman features an elegant mirrored interior with a high vaulted ceiling. Furniture is made from polished timber and white marble, and upholstered with leather and natural linens in muted tones.
The Library includes a wide selection of material on various subjects in several languages, from rare books on Delhi to historic and photographic works on the subcontinent. Wireless internet access is available.
The Cigar Lounge features comfortable leather armchairs in which to relax and enjoy a glass of spirits or a premium cigar from the selection available.
The lap pool is overlooked by the Pool Bar. Here informal seating is set beneath a colonnade which runs along the edge of the 50-metre Pool. Light Indian snacks and Continental fare is served.
Spacious and elegantly appointed, The Lodhi is housed in a three-storey structure with floor-to-ceiling windows. The entrance level overlooks a tranquil reflecting pool, while the upper floor boasts a silver-leaf ceiling, mirror finishes, leather floors and jaali screens. From the entrance level, steps lead down into another large room with a central service area and a semi-private dining room, ideal for meetings, conference or special events for up to 150 guests.
The Health Centre is set in a sunken courtyard that is a focal point for fitness and recreational activities with three Tennis Courts, three Squash Courts, a Pilates Studio and a Gym. Professional instructors are always on hand to offer personalised guidance for all levels of experience.
Accommodation
Rooms and suites at Aman New Delhi are designed with a contemporary flair, drawing their aesthetic references from local materials as well as the architecture and design of the region. Khareda stone quarried in northern India has been chosen for all the floors and is complemented by handmade rugs. Rich dark timber panels are accentuated by discrete lighting, while traditional jaali screens adorn building terraces and exteriors, lending an aura of mystery, as they have done, for so many buildings over many centuries.
Dining
The Aman serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as afternoon tea. The menu features a selection of Indian and Thai dishes, along with French Kaiseki at the Naoki counter, which fuses the best of French technique with Japanese artistry. Adjacent to the restaurant is the leather-panelled Lounge, an ideal meeting place, offering classic cocktails, light snacks and an extensive wine list.
The Tapas Lounge, located on the lower level, offers a selection of authentic Spanish tapas and features a central serving area with elevated seating, creating an informal setting. A Wine Cellar offers an intimate tasting area as well as cigar humidors.
The Spa
The Aman Spa at Aman New Delhi offers an extensive selection of luxurious face and body treatments for both ladies and gentlemen in private treatment rooms. Other spa facilities include traditional Hamman steam baths and Bamboo Garden relaxation areas.
