Castello del Nero Boutique Hotel & Spa boasts the area’s first exclusive destination spa designed by famed spa designer ESPA, offering the absolute latest in holistic treatments and spa experiences. A fully restored 12th Century castle converted into a modern day luxury sanctuary, Castello del Nero is the first property in the region to offer guests all the latest in modern facilities whilst maintaining the atmosphere of its historic surroundings. Among the many unique features is a beautiful frescoed chapel and garden, the perfect setting for a private wedding.

Situated in the town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, in the heart of the Chianti wine region, the hotel is situated in the ideal spot from which to explore Tuscany. Only 25 minutes from the historic cities of Florence and Siena, guests often adventure out for the morning and return back ‘home’ to the wonderful setting of the hotel, its restaurant and its signature destination spa, to enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

The hotel operates a daily shuttle service to and from Florence.

Accommodation

Tuscan Rooms – Each different in layout, style and decor, our rooms feature slanted, wooden beamed ceilings, ‘cotto’ floors and bathrooms decorated with marble and mosaics.  The majority of our rooms and suites feature double beds with the latest in mattress technology. Selected rooms are also available with single beds. Light goose down duvets, soft bed linens and cashmere blankets make for restful and comfortable sleep.

Modern, in-room entertainment includes LCD televisions as well as video and music on demand. A high speed internet connection is available and all rooms have powerful hairdryers, mini-bars and safety deposit boxes. Three room categories are available; Classic, Executive and Deluxe.

Suites – Our suites are special. For guests who want to enjoy the original features added by skillful painters and stonemasons several hundred years ago, 18 unique suites are available.  Under the supervision of the Italian Fine Art Commission, who have played an important role in the restoration of the castle, a collection of irreplaceable art treasures of immense, historic value have been uncovered and brought back to life.

Distinctive characteristics vary from suite to suite and include original frescoes, vaulted ceilings and distinguished fireplaces. In some suites luxurious solutions have been created for the centre of bathrooms, to preserve the beautiful frescoed walls.

Dining

There is perhaps no better way of experiencing a country’s history than through its food. With its blessed climate, Tuscany enjoys an abundance of fresh produce throughout the year.

Located in what was once the stables, restaurant La Torre offers a perfect setting for a real Tuscan food and wine experience. Created around local ingredients and high quality organically grown products a tempting assortment of home made culinary delights is produced by the Chef and his team. From pasta to bread to pastries, everything is rigorously home made.

The authentic looking bar, located in the old kitchen is a perfect meeting place for pre or post dinner drinks. It offers several rooms where guests may give in to the temptation of feeling like Barons of the estate, sipping on one of many reserve grappas, whiskies or cognacs.

The Spa
