Welcome to Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson’s private island paradise in the British Virgin Islands. One of our guests said it best when he said that Necker is somewhere that can’t be imitated, only appreciated! Necker can be hired exclusively and also during selected ‘Celebration Weeks’ when couples or singles can book individual rooms and share the island ‘house party’ style.

If you only want to visit with the immediate family, you can take the children on a Family Fun Celebration Week, designed specifically for families with children who do not wish to hire the entire island.

Following the devastating fire which broke out in the Great House on 22^nd August, 2011, the usual complement of 8 rooms and suites will be unavailable while the rebuilding project is ongoing.

While we restore the Great House to its former glory the island will still be available for exclusive hire with its six beautiful Bali Houses as well as Temple House, Richard Branson’s home, which he is making available in these exceptional circumstances. Our luxury catamaran, Necker Belle, will also be moored alongside the island offering further accommodation.

Accommodation

There are six unique Bali Houses dotted around Necker Island which are perfect for tropical seclusion. Bali Hi, Bali Cliff and Bali Beach are built on a cliff in order to maximise views and sea breezes, and share a plunge pool. Bali Lo, Bali Buah and Bali Kukila can be found in the middle of the island and boast wonderful views with a large private pool. Golf buggies (mules) are provided so guests can drive to other areas of the island.

Activities for you and the Kids

Sir Richard Branson designed Necker Island to be his family’s holiday home, and his own children spent their school holidays here, so it’s no surprise that children are positively welcome! We have plenty of things for children to do: there are all our sporting activities together with a large range of children’s DVDs, toys, an Xbox, books and games.

You can be as active or inactive as you like on Necker Island, but if you’re the active type you won’t be short of things to do. We have a large selection of state-of-the-art equipment enabling us to provide guests with the opportunity to try kite-surfing, sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, kayaking, power-boating, and plenty more. We also have two tennis courts and a tennis professional happy to give you a few pointers. Alternatively, you could spend the whole day lazing in a hammock… and why not?!

If all the activities on Necker Island weren’t enough to keep you busy, this private island paradise now has a new world-first – a 3-person aero submarine we call Necker Nymph. This underwater ‘aircraft’ has been designed especially for Virgin Limited Edition and takes exploration under the sea to a whole new level – or should that be depth?! Discover some stunning parts of the British Virgin Islands you might not get to see any other way!

Necker is designed to be your own private hideaway – a place far from the stresses and strains of daily life where you dictate the pace and the mood. Whether your passion is suiting up and getting wet in the crystal clear water or relaxing with a book on a deserted beach, you’ll be well catered for. We also host casino nights, fancy dress parties, BBQs on the beach, gala dinners where the food just keeps coming and much, much more!

Dining

Fine food is the highlight of any guest’s stay, and our prices are fully inclusive of all food and all drinks, including fine wines and champagne. Guests can set the menu and mealtimes – or this can be left up to us. Our wonderful Michelin-trained chefs can prepare dishes for all tastes. Dining can be formal or informal, indoors or outdoor, themed or traditional, beachside or poolside, or even under the stars! Ask us for some ideas or give us yours.
