About Palazzo Sasso

Palazzo Sasso is a stunning five-star deluxe hotel on Italy’s famous Amalfi coast. The hotel is a 12th century Italian villa tucked away in the hill top village of Ravello and perched high on the cliffs, 350 meters (1,000 ft.) above the sparkling Mediterranean. Palazzo Sasso overlooks some of the coast’s most picturesque fishing villages. Since its opening as a new hotel in 1997, Palazzo Sasso has been rated as one of the world’s finest hotels and boasts two-star Michelin dining.

Originally built in the 12th C., Palazzo Sasso, like many other buildings along San Giovanni del Toro, was part of the aristocratic quarter of Ravello during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Some original rooms remain, such as the entrance hall and a small bathroom used as a cellar in the Restaurant.

Accommodation

32 rooms and 11 suites. All rooms and suites are decorated with hand made Vietri tiles, antique carpets and furniture from the XVIII and XIX centuries. Brass accessories and appliqués. Frette linen and Bulgari amenities, satellite TV, safe, minibar, internet access and I-Pod docking stations.

Dining

Dining at Palazzo Sasso is truly a unique experience. You can enjoy a candle light dinner served in our restaurant Rossellinis or a delicious casual meal on the Terrazza Belvedere.

Our two Michelin stars restaurant has just been awarded with very high ratings in all major Italian guides. The just reward for endless passion.

Pino Lavarra our Executive Chef after having worked at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxford with Raymond Blanc went to run the renowned Grissini at the Hyatt Carlton Tower in London, is back in Ravello with the goal to make of Rossellinis one of the finest Italian restaurants.

The restaurant is closed from the November to March. During the season, the “Rossellinis”is open for dinner only. If you think of treating yourself with an unforgettable meal, think of doing so at night, on one of our terraces, looking down on the fishing boats 1,000 feet below!

Donato Marzolla, our Restaurant Manager, and his team will accompany you throughout your meal with a friendly, attentive and unobtrusive service.

Wellbeing

The gymnasium is located in the gardens under white gazebos and overlooks the Mediterranean sea. A variety of Technogim equipment is available to all our guests. A 20 meters heated swimming pool is situated in the gardens of Palazzo Sasso with an amazing view over the sea and the mountains.

New for 2009 is our Sea Front villa “ Sasso by the Sea” which is located in the small town of Marmorata, just 15 minutes drive from Ravello.  There is complimentary access to the beach platforms for all hotel guests, a small swimming pool, the casual Sasso  Restaurant, changing rooms and relaxing living rooms.  A complimentary shuttle service is available starting from 10 am. The Beach club will be open from the 1st of May 2010 to 30th September 2010.
